Maria Aika Uy was crowned the MassKara Queen 2009 last October 15 at University of St. La Salle Coliseum in Bacolod City. Uy seized the minds of the judges as she deliberately waves her identity as a true blooded Bacolodnon. In her answer to the finale question as she was challenged on how to keep the Bacolodnon spirit, she enthralled everybody’s hub as she says:

“Bacolodnons are known to be happy people, there are a lot more that I can do to enhance and make them happier. MassKara is not just showing the smiles on our faces but it is making us one as Bacolodnons.”
