After twelve long years of planning and developing the USLS Granada Campus, the Ecological Park has finally been inaugurated last Dec. 8.

With its inauguration and blessing recently, USLS opens the ten- hectare Center to students and teachers, families, NGOs, professional societies, civic organizations and corporations which they can utilize for different occasions and purposes.

The Granada Ecological Park offers services such as day retreats and recollections, family and community picnics, group tours and outings, leadership training camps, field trips, and other special events.

A worth visiting site for family and friends is the Vaugirard which has cabanas, picnic huts, swimming pools for children and adults, a fishing lagoon, camping and picnic grounds, and campfire ring for recreation and leisure.

There is also the Butterfly Park, a notable spot which beholds over 20 different species of butterflies.
The Ecopark is suited not only for wellness, recreation and leisure. It is also a venue that offers facilities intended for environmental education as well as for field laboratory research.

Among the many facilities that are intended for education and research include the Ecopark Center, which has a library, two laboratories, a lecture, an exhibit hall, and the Rainforest Exhibit;  the Acacia Hall which has a lecture room for 100 students and a camping hall for overnight fieldtrips.

With all the facilities of the Center, Ecopark coordinator Lilibeth Cordova believes that the Center is a landmark for the City of Bacolod and the whole province.

The Granada Ecological Park will be fully operational on February 2010.

Negros, the Sugar Bowl of the Philippines with a land area of 13,328 km² (5,146 square mi.) It is the 4th largest Island in the Philippines. Vast areas of sugarcane plantations that can take your breathe away when you are viewing it from above. These photos taken on my way from from Cebu around 4pm in the afternoon, I had a perfect view of negros on the planes’ clear window. I took my camera, take some shots and this is what I got. I had a chance to visit Davao once again last December, 2009. I stayed for 5 days in davao, not to roam around the city but to work together with the yearbook staff and finish my job in the Interactive CD 2009. During my stay, I was hoping that I could visit again the places in davao like Malagos Garden, Pearl Farm, Crocodile Park and Eden Farm but I didn’t happen. So I took the change to go to places which is near to wear I stayed in davao which would also give interest to some other people to visit davao also like in the People’s Park.

It is a four hectar property previously and old PTA grounds, which used to host athletic meets and sports events in the city and was converted into a People’s Park which opened last December 15, 2007.

Situated at the Araneta St. near La Planta Hotel-Bacolod is a structure that will surely captivate ones senses. Jessie Marañon, owner of the said place shared that his inspirations for this uniquely built edifice were museums, houses and other places in London which he used to visit. As of this moment, enhancements and more designs are still on queue which continually invites us to keep on going back to the manor and see the exceptional collections- a truly part of the Negrense’s pride.

Boracay Island is known for its pure white powdery sand beaches. It has beaches on both east and west side of the island. The main beach is located on the west side popularly called as the White Beach. Strips of hotels, bar, restaurants, stores, souvenirs shops and the like are all over the place making the tourists get enthralled with luster of every facade. Facing west, one can never miss out the spectacular view of tropical sunset. Though a sunset is one of those flashes in our being that is often ignored and despite their constancy, each and every sunset is exceptional and definitely shines the island before each day ends. Perhaps that is what prompts us to grab Fuji S7000 and Nikon D80 and start shooting like today’s sunset.
