After twelve long years of planning and developing the USLS Granada Campus, the Ecological Park has finally been inaugurated last Dec. 8.

With its inauguration and blessing recently, USLS opens the ten- hectare Center to students and teachers, families, NGOs, professional societies, civic organizations and corporations which they can utilize for different occasions and purposes.

The Granada Ecological Park offers services such as day retreats and recollections, family and community picnics, group tours and outings, leadership training camps, field trips, and other special events.

A worth visiting site for family and friends is the Vaugirard which has cabanas, picnic huts, swimming pools for children and adults, a fishing lagoon, camping and picnic grounds, and campfire ring for recreation and leisure.

There is also the Butterfly Park, a notable spot which beholds over 20 different species of butterflies.
The Ecopark is suited not only for wellness, recreation and leisure. It is also a venue that offers facilities intended for environmental education as well as for field laboratory research.

Among the many facilities that are intended for education and research include the Ecopark Center, which has a library, two laboratories, a lecture, an exhibit hall, and the Rainforest Exhibit;  the Acacia Hall which has a lecture room for 100 students and a camping hall for overnight fieldtrips.

With all the facilities of the Center, Ecopark coordinator Lilibeth Cordova believes that the Center is a landmark for the City of Bacolod and the whole province.

The Granada Ecological Park will be fully operational on February 2010.

The design above of the hand is the cover of the box of the yearbook. It has different colors which signifies the different colleges of the University of St. La Salle and the hand is wrap around by strings. For me those strings represents hardships and trials in our day to day lives but despite those trials we should still continue living and also reach out to others as what the hand symbolizes. There are some parts of the hand that do not have yet shaded color, its an empty space since we do not know everything, there are still so much we need to learn and we should always be open for those learnings.

I had a chance to visit Davao once again last December, 2009. I stayed for 5 days in davao, not to roam around the city but to work together with the yearbook staff and finish my job in the Interactive CD 2009. During my stay, I was hoping that I could visit again the places in davao like Malagos Garden, Pearl Farm, Crocodile Park and Eden Farm but I didn’t happen. So I took the change to go to places which is near to wear I stayed in davao which would also give interest to some other people to visit davao also like in the People’s Park.

It is a four hectar property previously and old PTA grounds, which used to host athletic meets and sports events in the city and was converted into a People’s Park which opened last December 15, 2007.

But becuase of it, I have lots of time to really improve and enhance the contents and feature of the interactive. For the first time, it was no longer placed in a cd in which I have limited storage. We decided to make it as an interactive DVD instead, becuase of it, I have larger space so that I can store lots of contents for the cd such as I have added gallery for the class photos, also I inserted the graduation videos and graduation photos, more and more photos where added in the gallery, I enhanced the user interface with mouse movement interaction and so much more.

This is the 3rd straight interactive CD I’ve released during Baccalaureate Mass and the 4th Interactive CD I made for USLS.

The La Salle Yearbook 2008 ‘Pieces of Masters’ is the compilation of different ‘pieces of masters’, as seen in different lights for the graduates of 2008. Each piece may come in a different form, perspective, and value yet all is essential.

With the yearbook, this Interactive Cd is provided for videos and more information about the graduates. This serves as a soft copy of the yearbook details that is more handy and convenient.

The La Salle Yearbook 2008 “Pieces of Masters” believes that everyday we are given a piece of challenge to master, a piece of venue to share our mastery, a piece of life to continue developing to become a master and that as we are pieces of the Master Himself, we are given today as a piece of the master we will become.

The Hues of Possibilities is the 3rd interactive Yearbook CD a designed for University of St. La Salle, It features photo and video gallery of various events in the university and graduate informations as well as some information about the university such as Campus photos, presidents message and history. This was also released during the Baccalaureate mass together with the Yearbook.

The Lasalle Yearbook 2006 Interactive CD is the second interactive media I have made for the USLS Yearbook. I used macromedia flash 8 with actionscript 2.0. the Interactive CD together with the Yearbook was released during the Baccalaureate Mass in March 2006.
